What this covers
The stain on your ceiling is almost never under the hole
Water runs along a purlin, down a rafter and drops wherever the timber ends. That can be metres from where it got in. Sealing the stain buys you one dry season, then the same ceiling comes down again.
We get on the roof, find the entry point, and tell you whether this is a repair or whether the deck has gone and you are re-roofing. You get the honest answer either way, including when it is the cheaper one.
- Full re-roofs, decking, purlins and sheeting
- Leak tracing and targeted repair
- Concrete roof sealing and coating
- Gutters, downpipes and roof drainage
- Hurricane strapping, clips and tie downs
Before and after
Open trusses to weathertight
The same house, same spot, photographed with the trusses still open to the sky and again once the roof was decked, shingled and closed in. The roof is the thing that shuts a building to the weather, and every trade after it depends on the building staying dry.

What changed
- Roof structure set out, braced and strapped down
- Decking, underlay and sheeting laid to fall
- Hips, ridges and valleys flashed and sealed
- Gutters and downpipes run water off the plot
- Render and finishes closed in behind a dry roof
How a roof job runs
What the days actually look like
A repair can be two days. A full re-roof is usually two to three weeks. The sequence is the same either way.
Get on the roof
We climb it rather than guess at it, and photograph every problem from the deck as well as the covering, so you are looking at what we are looking at.
Leak trace and report
We follow the water back to the entry point, then tell you plainly whether this is a patch, a section, or a roof that has run out of life.
Quote and scope
An itemised quote within about three working days, with the repair option and the re-roof option priced separately so you can decide on real numbers.
Strip and structure
Old covering off, deck and timbers inspected, anything rotten cut out and replaced. Straps and clips go on before a single sheet does.
Covering and flashing
New sheeting laid to fall, then hips, ridges, valleys and every penetration flashed. Flashing is where roofs leak, so it is where the time goes.
Water test and handover
We hose it before we leave, at the flashings and the valleys, and watch the inside while it runs. The roof gets signed off wet, not on a promise.
Questions
Roofing questions
Can you just patch it instead of re-roofing?
Often, yes, and we will say so when that is the honest answer. A patch on a sound roof with one failed flashing is money well spent. A patch on a deck that has gone soft is money thrown at a roof you will be replacing inside two years, and we will tell you that just as plainly.
How soon can you come out for a leak?
Usually within a day or two, and faster in the middle of the rains if water is running into the house. A tarp and a stop gap on that same visit is normal, with the real repair booked once we know what we are dealing with.
Do you work in the rain?
Not on an open roof. Once the covering is off, the house is exposed, so we watch the forecast and never strip more in a day than we can close back the same day. That is why a re-roof takes longer in the wet season, and why we would rather tell you that up front.
Is the roof strapped for hurricanes?
Every roof we build or replace gets strapping and clips tying the structure down through to the wall plate. On a repair we look at what is already there and tell you what is missing, because plenty of older roofs here have nothing holding them on but their own weight.
