Houses under construction on a terraced site behind a block retaining wall

The work, before and after

Finished photos only tell you half of it. Where we have the before shot, we show it, because the gap between the two is the actual job. Most of these were shot from the same spot twice.

Drag to compare

Some of our work

The same job at two stages, months apart, shot from the same spot wherever we could stand there twice. Drag the handle across each one, or tab to it and use the arrow keys.

The same house with the roof decked, shingled and the eaves closed in
The house with the roof trusses set out and braced, open to the sky

Roofing

Open trusses to weathertight

Same spot, same house. Trusses set out and braced, then decked, felted, shingled and closed in. The day a roof goes on is the day every other trade can start.

The same house rendered and repainted in grey with the balustrade picked out in white
A weathered two storey house with stained walls, bare block and an overgrown roof line

Renovation

A tired house, brought back

Years of weather cut out, patched, rendered and repainted. No walls moved, no extension built. This is what most renovations actually are, and what most people underestimate.

The same pool finished, filled and running, ringed by a marble tiled surround
A bare concrete pool shell with the steps formed, before tiling and coping

Pool build

A concrete shell to a pool

Shell formed and waterproofed, then the waterline tiling, the coping, the surround and the plant. Most of the work is buried by the time anyone swims in it.

The same room fully tiled and grouted, a polished floor running unbroken to the skirting
Large format tiles part laid on a bare screed with levelling clips and adhesive out on the floor
Before After

Tiling

Bare screed to a finished floor

Set out from the centre of the room, laid on levelling clips, cuts run to the wall line. The finish is the structure, so a bad set out has nowhere to hide.

The finished kitchen with marble counters, a gas hob in the island, stainless extractor and built in ovens
White base units and island carcasses set out on a tiled floor, no counters yet
Before After

Kitchen fit out

Carcasses on the floor to a finished kitchen

Units set out and squared to the walls, then counters templated and fitted, appliances built in, extraction ducted and the lighting run.

The same addition finished, rendered and painted with a tiled floor and new sliding doors in
An addition mid build, timber studwork open to the yard under a new roof slab
Before After

Extension

Timber frame to covered patio

An addition onto a house somebody was still living in. Look at where the new work meets the old wall. That join is the whole job.

The same house finished, rendered in yellow with planting in and the driveway paved
A house at block and roof stage, bare concrete, no windows and the ground still raw
Before After

New build

Block shell to handed over

Block and roof up with the ground still raw, then render, glazing, a paved driveway and planting. The gap between the two is about nine months of work.

The same counter front clad in vertical timber slats, returned around the corner

Before After

Joinery

Plain counter front to timber slats

No wall moved, no room added. Slats cut, set out and returned around the corner so the lines carry. A week of work that changes how the whole room reads.
